Azure Cosmos DB is a fully managed and globally distributed, Multi-model databases with the support for various data models like SQL, Cassandra, Gremlin, Table and MongoDB. When provisioning an Azure Cosmos DB account for the first time, you will select which of the APIs you want the account to support (for example, Mongo API or SQL API).
In my earlier article we explored the options of “How to Atlas from CosmosDB” using Mongo API. In this article we will explore on the SQL API options.
Set up of Azure CosmosDB with SQL API with Test Data
Provision the Azure Cosmos DB SQL API account and later retrieve the endpoint and key to connect to the Azure Cosmos DB SQL API account using the Azure SDK for .NET .
Use the cosmicworks command-line tool to deploy sample data in Azure Cosmos DB SQL API account. The tool is open-source and is available through NuGet.

cosmicworks --endpoint <cosmos-endpoint> --key <cosmos-key> --datasets product
.NET Console App
Have written a simple console app in .NET to connect to Azure CosmosDB SQL API using the Azure Cosmos SDK for .NET.
Retrieve the connection string from the azure portal and configure in the .NET Console. The sample code can be pulled from the below location.

Migrations from Cosmos SQL API to atlas will have some of the aspects to be considered. In this series we will look into the 2 major and mandatory aspects of Migrations.
